Biography

A Korean American violinist, Dr. Cindy Park is dedicated to her career as both an active performer and a passionate pedagogue for all ages.

Born in Seoul, South Korea, Dr. Park began her musical journey by playing piano and violin at the age of 7. Her violin debut at the age of 8 was broadcast on the Seocho Cable TV station in South Korea. In 2003, she performed as a soloist under the baton of Vladimir Yampolsky at the Georgia Music Educators Association festival.

Throughout her violin career, she has had numerous solo, chamber, and orchestral performances around the world, including England, the Czech Republic, Austria, and Italy. In the U.S., she has performed at prestigious venues such as Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Severance Hall, the Murchison Performing Arts Center, and the Woodruff Arts Center.

As a dedicated educator, Dr. Park has served as Adjunct Professor of Violin at Charleston Southern University in Charleston, SC. In the summertime, she has coached chamber music ensembles at the University of North Texas Summer String Institute and taught violin and viola lessons at Charleston Southern University Summer Music Camp.

Dr. Park received bachelor degrees as a double major in Violin Performance and Music Education from Florida State University, then a master’s degree from the University of Michigan. She holds the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Violin Performance with a related field in Music Theory from the University of North Texas.
